In February 2022, the Good Law Project commissioned some expert legal advice to help trans young people and their families understand their rights in relation to schools. The legal advice was produced by Dan Squires KC, a leading expert in education and discrimination law.
Mermaids have produced a template letter that you can use to write to schools if you believe they are not properly respecting your rights/the rights of your child.

FFLAG is a national voluntary organisation and registered charity offering support to local parents groups and contacts in their efforts to help parents and families understand, accept and support their lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and non-binary members with love and pride. FFLAG volunteers are parents of lesbian, gay, bisexual or trans children supported by other volunteers.
